Customizable Content Template Design
Design concept & execution, user experience, product development, project management
For New York Fashion Week in September 2013, I designed a new template for the CMS, working with developers to create a framework that allowed editors to add content into their choice of pre-designed shells. They could swap in new background images and create interchangeable and stackable content.
The templates introduced an integrated timeline feature, a secondary navigation, and embedded social content including YouTube videos, tweets and a live Instagram feed.
The results can be seen on these pages, all created and published prior to the launch of Fashion Week, and filled with content modules that promoted upcoming events and designers.
Throughout the week, as event occurred, the editors could add individual content modules to the "timeline" pages, filling them with more and more content as the days passed.
The template was later used for packages including DailyCandy Bazaar and Festival Tracker, and for branded content integration with clients including Canon.
